Silhouette - by Simon Brett
Directed by Celia Crookes
Performance Dates: 4th - 7th November 2009

Auditions Monday 6th and Wednesday 8th July @ 7:30pm

This play has four interesting parts for men and two good roles for ladies. there are some walk-on parts (ie no words to learn) should you wish to venture on to the stage for the first time. All welcome!

The cast comprises of:-

Martin Powell A striking looking man who is a succesful and charismatic actor
Celia Wallis An elegant and attractive woman, a succesful actress and second wife of Martin
Inspector Bruton A traditional police inspector, rather slow and humourless
D.S. Fisher A rather taciturn plain clothes policeman, who admires Celia Wallis
W.P.C. Leach A fairly new recruit, anxious tp do her 'counselling' well.
D.C. Wilkins Crime scene team (walk-on part)
W.P.C. Carter Crime scene team (walk-on part)
Neville Smallwood An awkward and intense reporter and life long fan of Celia Wallis

‘Silhouette' is a cleverly plotted thriller with a twist in the tail! Set in an expensively converted Sussex barn belonging to Martin Powell and his wife, Celia, this is a story of murder and intrigue. When Neville Smallwood, a rather strange reporter, arrives to interview Celia Wallis, things do not go to plan.......

Our April production

As most of you know we have had a change to our program and the next show will now be Quartet by Ronald Harwood.  This is a bitter sweet comedy from the author of The Dresser.
Reg Wilf and Cissy are residents in a home for retired opera singers.  All is wonderful until the arrival of Jean, who used to be married to Reg, disturbs their quiet life.

Come and enjoy four of our more 'experienced' actors in a celebration of art, life and performance that will make you laugh and make you think.

Playing dates 29th April to 2nd May - Tickets from the box office

Welcome to 2009 season at The Warehouse, Ilminster

We have a packed spring-summer season ahead of us with three IES productions scheduled, Accrington Pals, Our Town and Double Death. The first is cast and in rehearsal already but auditions are being held for the other two during January and February so check out the website for dates.
Looking back at 2008, huge congratulations should be given to Dave Goodall and his wonderful team for putting on a successful production of 'Toad of Toad Hall' in December. They had a difficult start with the original director pulling out for personal reasons and Dave gallantly stepping in to his directorial debut. But the show ran for two weeks just before Christmas to very appreciative and entertained audiences.
The incoming shows for the early part of 2009 are a diverse lot with belly dancing, Abba singing, Victorian entertainments and a concert pianist to name but a few. It's always worth checking the 'What's on' pages of the website regularly for news as extra shows are being booked all the time.

Don't forget members nights on the second Thursday of every month. These are an excellent opportunity for existing, new and potential members to meet socially, enjoy a drink (and sometimes some delicious food) and get to know a bit more about the community of people who support the theatre. No acting required!

Hope to see you all soon at the theatre.

Welcome! Our first Blog

Dear All,
Welcome to the very first of The Warehouse Theatre's blogs.
We hope that on this blog you will hear all the latest news from the Theatre including information about productions, castings and information about 'What's on'.
At the moment the theatre is fairly quiet with no shows on during August. We use this time to undertake general maintainance and to continue our programme of renovations. This year, we are building on the wonderful work done last year to upgrade the foyer and we will be putting in new facilities in the bar area, upgrading the toilets and completing some much needed painting and general titivating to the back stage areas. We thoroughly recommend you come along in September to check out the inprovements.
This week the auditions for our Christmas production of 'Toad of Toad Hall' are taking place in the theatre at 7.30pm on Wednesday 6th August. If you are interested in taking part please come along. If you can't attend please contact the director. Check out the Toad of Toad Hall page on the website for more information.
That's it for now. Keep checking out this blog for latest news.
Look forward to seeing you there.
